June 2021 Program on ZoomJune 10, 20217:00 pmSharing Member Minimalist Images
Sharing Member Minimalist Images Minimalism in Photography was the topic for our May program. We viewed an excellent webinar presented by Judy Hancock Holland. If you missed the meeting or would like to view it again, here is the link to the presentation on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD0umiEO-0c&t=48s So
now your assignment is to shoot 3 minimalistic images to share for our
June program. As you shoot each of those images please take a second
shot to show the surrounding environment of your minimalistic image. Of
course don’t limit yourself to shooting just 3 pairs of images, but
pick your 3 best/favorite pairs to share at the June meeting. Send your images in by Midnight, Wednesday, June 9th. Submit to: [email protected] Name your images as follows: Name1a, Name1b, Name2a, Name2b, Name3a, & Name3b. The “a” images will be the environmental shots and the “b” images will be the matching minimalistic images. In some cases you may not be able to have an environmental shot, so don’t worry, but get one if you can. The program format for the June meeting will be for members to share their 3 pairs of minimalistic images and if they wish, to explain how they determined what to photograph. So join us & share your minimalistic images. The discussion of our members’ minimalistic images will not take the place of our usual Show and Tell, so you can also submit other images for Show and Tell. Here are minimalist images from four of our members to jump start your creativity. Kathleen Bosch Ronnie Goyette ![]() ![]() Chuck Ubele Gary O'Neil ![]() ![]() Submissions For Show-n-TellAt the end of the meeting we will showcase member's images during Show-n-Tell, where each member may submit images on any subject, whether to ask for some ideas on how to make them better, or just to show us what you've been up to. At some meetings Field Trip images will be shown, featuring photos taken by our members at a recent outing. Please submit no more than 5 images for Show-n-Tell to the Webmaster ([email protected]) no later than 24 hours before the meeting - or be perpared to share your screen on Zoom. As usual, Show-n-Tell will be the last program of the meeting. Microphones will be on mute, to talk about your image, or make comments, press the space bar. Images must be JPEG in the sRGB color space, and for best display on Zoom, sized to 1800 pixels on the longest side of the image. Please note: Images over 3 MBytes might not transfer by email. Use your name as the first part of the file name. An example of naming your image files would be as follows: if your name is Mary Smith, then you would name your files: marysmith1.jpg, marysmith2.jpg, etc. File names for the Field Trip images should start with "FT": FTmarysmith1.jpg, FTmarysmith2.jpg For more assistance, see our tutorial on How to Prepare Digital Images for Projection.
